Grist was launched in 2000 by Andrew Rogerson and Mark Wellings - experienced and committed publishing professionals with proven track-records at The Economist and Financial Times.
Combining entrepreneurialism with a passion for business publishing, Grist has attracted a team of like-minded individuals with similar pedigrees, dedicated to achieving clients’ business objectives. Our researchers and writers are subject specialists. Our creative team are specialists in effective business design.
Andrew Rogerson is our Commercial Director. He has almost 20 years' general management and marketing experience. Prior to co-founding Grist he worked at the Economist Intelligence Unit where he spent five years in New York as Marketing Director with responsibility for branding, direct marketing and PR. As General Manager of Pyramid, a newly acquired research company, he was responsible for repositioning a 50-person international division for dramatic new online opportunities.
Sam Barrett is an Editor. She has won several awards for her work, including the ABI Freelance Financial Journalist of the year award.
Brenda Brady is our Research Manager. She has successfully researched and established new media launches across a wide range of creative industries.
Sarah Coles is our Senior Editor and Writer. She is a past winner of the Watson Wyatt media award for excellence in journalism and has worked on numerous magazines including Employee Benefits, Pensions Week and Hiscox News.
Paul Gosling is a Consulting Editor. A well-known commentator on the public sector and accountancy, Paul is a regular contributor to Public Finance, Local Government Chronicle and Public Servant.
Emily Hilton is an Editorial Assistant. She is also a regular blogger on news, current affairs and the media.
Jonathan Lalljee is a Sub-Editor. He has over 10 years' experience working on magazines and websites across the public and private sector, including local authorities, government departments and law firms.
Hilary Ramsay is our Special Projects Manager. She has worked for a number of prestigious publishers, including the Economist Intelligence Unit, marketing a range of research reports, magazines, books and events.
Mark Wellings is our Publishing Director. He has produced hundreds of highly-successful and innovative business magazines, books, reports, and websites with leading international publishers over the last 20 years. Prior to co-founding Grist he was Director of Custom Publishing for the Economist Intelligence Unit in New York, publisher for Financial Times Newsletters and Management Reports in Hong Kong and senior Commissioning Editor for Thomson Learning in London.
Andy Beswick is our Art Director. Andy has been responsible for the creative direction, visual identity, design, launch, branding and ongoing evolution of countless successful magazines, including FT's How to spend it magazine.
Ed Burgass is a Web Producer. He has extensive experience working on digital magazines, social media, websites, e-commerce, email campaigns, online advertising, affiliate marketing, SEO, blogs and mobile solutions.
Lee Coppack is one of our Consulting Editors. She specialises in risk management and insurance and is also editor of Global Reinsurance, Catastrophe Risk Management and the Institute of Risk Management's magazine InForm.
Kent Height is a Video Producer. He has 15 years' experience creating print and online campaigns, latterly specialising in video production for organisations including BSI British Standards, Business Link, Department for Innovation University and Skills, and South East England Development Agency (SEEDA).
Tim Huxford is a Designer. He has designed magazines, newsletters, journals, research reports, direct mail and marketing literature for numerous blue chip clients including the Economist Intelligence Unit and Informa.
Paul Monaghan is a Web Designer. He is highly experienced in producing creative digital solutions for clients such as the Audit Commission, SJ Berwin and Brittania.
